UK Rap Up 2011 - Mystro

It's that time of the year peeps.  Premiered on Charlie Sloth's show this morning, MysDiggi's back once again to recap on the year's events.  It pretty much does what it says on the tin so if you've been living under a rock or just have an awful memory, make sure you kick back and get your ears around this.  Proper visuals should be on the way soon, keep it locked...

Xmas Freebies From LDZ, The Quaranteam, Ghetts & Tinchy Stryder

Christmas seems to bring out the generous side of the music community, with no less than four different artists dropping projects free of charge for your listening pleasure.  Starting off the festive festivities is the "Catfood LP" from the LDZ (London Zoo) family.  Weighing in at a hefty 22 tracks and features from the likes of Stig Of The Dump, Dubbledge, Jam Baxter & Verbal, the genre-spanning sextet drop musical delights throughout and add another enjoyable offering to their already versatile discography.  If you don't know about LDZ already, get to know! Check out http://ldzmusic.bandcamp.com/

Following swiftly on it's heels is "#TheQuaranteamEP from funnily enough, The Quaranteam. Consisting of Loudmouth Melvin, Pyro Barz, KNite13, Mentalist & Skillit, their 8 track EP is a perfect showcase for their lyrical talents and is a massive indicator that these guys are definitely a collective to keep your eyes on.  Check out http://q-team.tumblr.com/ for more music from the team.

Kicking of a double dose of Grime is the much anticipated project from one of the scene's stalwarts, Ghetts.  The latest in a line of UK artists to collaborate with US mixtape veteran DJ Whoo Kid, "Momentum" finds Ghetts at his aggressive and energetic peak, verbally attacking each and every of the 19 tracks on offer.  Unlike the artists who have tried to pander to American audiences with their US hook-ups, Ghetts sticks to what he knows and does the best; raw and gritty music.

Wrapping it up is everyone's favourite pint-sized popstar, Tinchy Stryder, returning to his roots with his 8 track EP, "The Wish List".  With features from his Ruff Sqwad cohorts on their ode to anti-establishment on the brilliantly titled "Mario Ballotelli", alongside the statement track "Grime Veterans" with the aforementioned Ghetts, Stryder's latest project proves the point that those artists that 'emerge' from a thriving underground scene to perhaps water themselves down for the mainstream, always make better music when they stay true to their beginnings.

Click the relevant artwork for the downloads.  Merry Christmas peeps...

Don't Flop - Uno Lavoz V Lunar C

Short & Sweet.  As a little crimbo treat, the team at Don't Flop have finally dropped the visuals for Uno Lavoz versus Lunar C.  This is probably the best, funniest and most debatable battle I've seen from DF.  Make sure you check this, definitely takes the league to a new level.

New beat tape from one of the finest beatsmiths around right now.  Volume One consists of 10 tracks that have been vocalled by the likes of Lowkey, Skinnyman, Ghetts and Tinchy Stryder to name a few.  Show N Prove never fails to impress with his production prowess and this free download is ideal for aspiring MCs to put their spin on a host of audio delights.  Check the sampler vid and the download link below.

Essence - Logic & Last Resort ft Big Frizzle

On the eve of the release of their LP "True Talk", Logic and Last Resort team up with the GlobalFaction team to drop the video for "Essence".  Featuring Big Frizzle on chorus duties, it's the duo's ode to the origins of music's finest genre.  Feel good Hip Hop at it's head-nodding best.  Keep it locked over the next couple of days for a review of the new album and from midnight, make sure you head to iTunes and download "True Talk" - http://itunes.apple.com/gb/preorder/true-talk/id477199020

Montu Arts - Cyclonious

I love it when I check my inbox and there's some fresh music waiting for me!  This time around, it takes the form of East London based Cyclonious and his free EP, "Montu Arts".  Admittedly, I hadn't heard too much from this guy before but this is definitely worth a download, it's head-nodding Hip Hop in it's prime.  The fact that he's been co-signed by GlobalFaction in the shape of the video for "Don't Sleep" should be more than enough encouragement to take note; those guys know good music when they hear it!.

"Montu Arts", produced by DJ Vital, is a well selected blend of dope beats and thoughtful wordplay and acts as somewhat of a prelude to Cyclonious' debut album, "The Revival", which is due out early next year.  Follow @Cyclonious to keep up to date and download "Montu Arts" here - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QBOGBSI7

Happy Birthday EP - Tinie Tempah

New EP from Tinie Tempah, entitled "Happy Birthday".  Available free of charge, the 9 tracks feature artists from home and across the pond. It's definitely targeted more towards enhancing the appeal in the states as it's somewhat lacking that homegrown vibe that Tinie came up on.  Regardless, it's a decent listen.  Catch the download link after the tracklisting.

1. Happy Birthday
2. Mayday - ft Chipmunk & Soulja Boy
3. Leak-a-Mixtape - ft Giggs
4. Like It Or Love It - ft Wretch32 & J. Cole

My Truth - Genesis Elijah

This is deep!  Genesis Elijah is back with a video for his undeniably heartfelt track, "My Truth", taken from his upcoming EP "Painkillers & Pilkington".  I rate Elijah massively and genuinely believe that he is one of the most gifted and creative social commentators around right now.  Follow the man himself on Twitter for more release info and general realness - @GenesisElijah

Soundtrack To The Struggle - Lowkey

When Lowkey drops a video these days, it's pretty much guaranteed that the folks at GlobalFaction are responsible for the visuals. This time around it's the intro, title and one of the standout tracks from his latest LP. I needn't add anything else, it speaks for itself.  Enjoy...

You Alone (A64) - Tyler Daley

The latest A64 from SB.TV comes in the shape of Manchester's Tyler Daley.  Perhaps more recognisable through his moniker Hoodman or his stint as Warren in "Dubplate Drama", Daley drops an acoustic version of his new track, "Baby You Alone".  I didn't realise that he sang, let alone as smoothly and soulfully as he does here.  Daley then proceeds to compliment his singing with some deep, thought-provoking bars.  Stripped-back, conscious music at it's finest.

HF TV - Dirty Dike, BVA MC & Leaf Dog

First off, I've got to massively big up High Focus for sticking my reviews and posts about "The Four Owls" on both their website (http://www.high-focus.com) and their Facebook page. Much Respect!!  If you're either musically challenged or just plain lazy and haven't yet got a hold of "Nature's Greatest Mystery", then make sure you do pronto!  As for the video in question, two of the four Owls; BVA and Leaf Dog, accompanied by Dirty Dike, take turns to deliver some serious bars in this HF TV freestyle session.  These guys never fail to drop lyrical gems and the accompanying visuals act as a small indication of the rapidly expanding pool of talent that calls High Focus headquarters home.

Here I Am - Supar Novar

Just a quick heads up here folks.  After dropping his instrumental EP a couple of weeks back, Supar Novar returns with his latest mixtape, entitled "Here I Am".  Once again a free download, it features the likes of Dappy, Big Ben, MCD, Ragz Sweet Jones and boasts production credits from Farma G, Show N Prove as well as beats from the man himself.  Novar rarely fails to deliver and as it won't hurt your pocket, download "Here I Am" from http://www.mediafire.com/?0lk8ycksyydqv2x

Lonely Are The Brave (Album Sampler) - Maverick Sabre

I've been a massive fan of Maverick Sabre for some time now. His distinctive sound has complimented several genres, showcased in his brilliant "Travelling Man" mixtape and "Lost Words" EP, resulting in features for the likes of Chase & Status and Professor Green.  After a brilliant reception for singles "Let Me Go" and "I Need", Mav is set to release his debut album, "Lonely Are The Brave", on 6th February next year.  Including a couple of tracks from his earlier mixtape, alongside his chilling rendition of Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come",  I'm adamant that 2012 will be the year that Maverick Sabre becomes a household name and receives the recognition he rightly deserves.  Check out the interactive sampler for "Lonely Are The Brave" below and pre-order the LP from, amongst many other places, here: http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/19475987/-/Product.html

Steamrolling - Jack Flash & Wizard/ Don't Flop: TT9 - Jack Flash V Depths

Got some up north niceness for you guys, courtesy of Huddersfield's Jack Flash.  First up is the video to one of the tracks from his upcoming project with production genius Wizard, the brilliant 'Steamrolling'.  He dropped this a couple of months back but having enlisted Paul Cockcroft to assist with the visuals, the levels are well and truly upped!  Following swiftly on is Flash's Don't Flop debut against Glaswegian MC, Depths.  I don't want to spoil the outcome so make sure you watch this as there punchlines galore and far to many quotables for me to even fathom highlighting; it's one of the funniest I've watched for a while.  The Jack Flash and Wizard LP "Progression" is due out on 31st January.  Keep it locked for more info...

Rappertag UK #4 - Rodney P

So maybe he wasn't as quick to respond as the other participants but the Rodney P adds his instalment to the Rappertag chain.  The Riddim Killa lives up to his name (albeit an acapella session!) and once again, raises the stakes with his choice of who to pass the metaphorical 'baton' on to.

Connect The Spidf - Buggsy ft Jehst & Farma G

Another piece of the South West for your listening pleasure.  Although taken from his debut album "The Great Escape" which was released back in May, St Paul's Buggsy has dropped fresh visuals for "Connect The Spidff".  Conveniently whilst Buggsy was visiting the Northern boroughs of London, Farma G and Jehst were sharing 'tea and condiments' together one evening and ended up jumping on on the track. Check the video and all the bullshit will make perfect sense!  Whilst Buggsy holds his own with the two veterans, personally I think Farma absolutlely kills it.  If you wanna hear more of "The Great Escape", head to iTunes - http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the-great-escape/id436207159 and for more from Buggsy and news on a potential project with Joker, follow him on Twitter -  @Bugnum1

Nature's Greatest Mystery (Review)- The Four Owls

I may have been a little slow on the uptake in learning of this project and despite that being just under a month ago, I can't think of an album that I've waited for with as much anticipation as "Nature's Greatest Mystery" from The Four Owls.  With a stellar line up consisting of 'Big Owl' (Fliptrix), 'Bird T' (Verb T), 'Deformed Wing' (Leaf Dog) and 'Rusty Take-Off' (BVA), the LP ran the risk of four established and undeniably talented artists vying for a spot in the limelight.  However, High Focus' parliament of poets juxtapose and compliment one another perfectly in order to craft quite possibly one of the best albums of the year.

"The Owls, we're like a colony, we bring the real music back like it's supposed to be.."

"Nature's Greatest Mystery" takes the listener somewhat of an aural expedition.  After a brief introduction with the emphatic horn laced, Phone Shop sampling mockumentary (A OWL!!), we embark upon an eccentric journey; taking in the energetic highs of "Lights Off", "Betrayal" and the Q-Unique featuring "Champions"; through the mellow, head-nodding come downs of "Original", "Three Hits To The Dome" and "Burning Vapour"; stopping at the reflective "All My Life" and "Life In The Balance" with Jam Baxter and out the other side with the brash, Dirty Dike assisted "Much Too Much".

Due to production credits being the sole responsibility of Leaf Dog, the underlying current throughout remains the quartet's relentless lyricism; with all employing their unique sound and delivery to verbally desecrate each and everyone of Deformed Wing's 14 epic instrumentations.  It's apparent that any potential egos that may or may not have existed have been cast aside and the collective have been, to excuse the pun, highly focused on producing a hip hop masterpiece.

Ultimately, it goes without saying that "Nature's Greatest Mystery" is a more than valuable addition to any true head's collection and it's a snip at £5.99.  Hit up iTunes - http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/natures-greatest-mystery/id479945454 or if you're wanting a physical copy, check out http://www.high-focus.com/home/shop/thefourowls/ or http://www.suspect-packages.com/artists/r-t/THE_FOUR_OWLS.php

Clear My Throat - Klashnekoff

Klashnekoff is back on the scene and repping the West Country (brrap!!) with the video for his latest track, "Clear My Throat".  Shot in Weston-Super-Mare, K-lash takes The 45 King's "The 900 Number" and stamps his trademark energetic flow all over the old school classic.  Taken from his upcoming mixtape, "FTLT" (Fuck The Long Talk), it's simple yet effective and showcases that K-lash is still one of the finest lyricists around right now.  Big up South Blessed for their work behind the lens. Make sure you check out their community channel for everything South West related at http://www.southblessed.co.uk

Fix Up - Black Star

Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey on a Madlib track.  Need I say more? Well perhaps that Yasiin Bey is now the new moniker for the artist formerly known as Mos Def.  Back to the matter in hand and one of the illest partnerships in Hip Hop return with brand new material in the shape of "Fix Up".  When these two go into the studio together, you're nearly always guaranteed magic (look no further than the classic "Definition" and the rest of their eponymous first album).  Word on the grapevine is that we can expect a second LP from the duo next year so in the meantime, get your lug'oles around "Fix Up" and if you've been slipping, go check out the original "Black Star" album.  'Fix Up. Look Sharp. Elevate'.

The Press - Caxton Press

I swear GlobalFaction never cease to do the business when it comes to a) championing new music and b) producing some epic visuals.  This time around, their limelight is shared with a new collective, known as "Caxton Press".  With their name taken from the inventor of the country's first printing press, William Caxton, this isn't a group of sudden upstarts.  We're talking big names here people; the likes of Manage, DJSnuff, eMCee Killa, Kingpin, Amy True and producer, Profound.  The video below is for their first offering, the heavier than heavy "The Press" which is taken from their impending album, "Shame The Devil".

And if that doesn't whet your appetite enough, check out their cypher to confirm their lyrical brilliance.

Make sure you head to http://www.caxtonpresshiphop.com to learn more about the group and while you're there, make sure you hit the 'Listen Up' section to sample the aural delight that the snippets from "Shame The Devil" bring to your ears.  It's sounding like a beast!

Lost Tapes Vol.2: Estates & Legacies - Reveal

Reveal's cracked open his vaults again and being the generous individual that he his, he's back with the second installment of his "Lost Tapes" for your listening pleasure.  Once again available to you free of charge, the 16 tracks that feature offer a little more solo material compared to the first volume and includes the brilliant "What Estate R U From?", the powerful Manage and Aina assited "Open Your Eyes" and one of my personal favourites, the chilling "Where Do You Go?" (also featuring on Lowkey's "Key To The Game Vol.3").  All the tracks can be listened to and downloaded individually below or if you want to download the complete project with artwork, then check the download link below the player.  Vol.3 is set for release next week which'll be up on here asap but if you're on Twitter, follow the man himself for updates - @RevealPoison

We'll Never Know - Logic & Last Resort ft Maverick Sabre, Akala & Big Frizzle

Taken from his forthcoming collaborative LP with producer Last Resort, Logic has graced us with video for the first single, "We'll Never Know".  Featuring Akala, Maverick Sabre and Big Frizzle with the guys at GlobalFaction the other side of the lens, this oozes soulful brilliance.  "We'll Never Know" finds all involved at their conscious and thought-provoking best, offering a slice of what can be expected from the full project, "True Talk".  Due to be released on 19th December, it boasts the likes of Klashnekoff, Lowkey, Rewd Adams, Remus and Mighty Moe to name but a few and from what's available to listen to on iTunes, it's sounding very, very interesting indeed.  Peep the vid for "We'll Never Know" below and to listen to snippets or pre-order "True Talk", head to http://itunes.apple.com/gb/preorder/true-talk/id477199020

Nature's Greatest Mystery (Album Sampler) - The Four Owls

Ahead of it's release in a fortnight's time, High Focus' resident ornithologists, The Four Owls, have dropped a sneak preview of what can be expected from their upcoming LP, "Nature's Greatest Mystery". Just shy of seven minutes long, the sampler showcases what you would expect from a collective of this calibre; heavy production and on-point lyricism throughout.  If you haven't already got your mitts on the first two singles "Lights Out" and "Not Like Before", they're both available on iTunes right now alongside the option to pre-order the album.  To support it's release, The Four Owls are doing a host of 'launch parties' in the next couple of months at various venues around the country so head to http://www.high-focus.com to check the dates and locations.

Say Hello (Razor Ramone) - Loudmouth Melvin

Got some new ish from Loudmouth Melvin for your listening pleasure!  This guy never fails to impress me and once again, he's come up trumps with "Say Hello". Loudmouth effortlessly glides over what I'm thinking is a Barry White track, dropping some subdued yet equally as emphatic bars.  Best of all, its available to you lot for free so head to http://www.hulkshare.com/hj6ouesoxvdh and get your fix.  If you like what you hear, check out http://loudmouthmelvin.bandcamp.com/ to discover more.

Lost Tapes Vol.1: Poison & Other Toxins - Reveal

Forgive the contradiction but Poisonous Poet Reveal has blessed us with some new, old material in the form of his "Lost Tapes Vol.1: Poison & Other Toxins".  The 28 tracks on offer are a collection of unheard dubs and collaborations alongside material from the "Poisonous Poetry" mixtape and the ill-fated second installment, "Lethal Dosage".  For anyone under any disillusion that Double P were/are one of the best collectives to do it, just check the epic "What's Your Status";  I guarantee it will instantly quell any doubts you may be harbouring.

As for the man in the limelight, to quote Stylah, "Reveal probably has the deepest flows".  His distinctive sound and lyrical venom shine throughout, quite a feat when he's surrounded by such a group of talented artists.  Volumes 2 and 3 are apparently in the pipeline and despite the quality on offer in Volume 1, I'm hoping they feature more solo material from one of the best social commentators about right now.  Head to Reveal's Soundcloud page to listen to and download the tracks individually or for the link for the complete project.

Jack The World - Yungun

I want to keep this short and sweet in order to let the music do the talking!  I've been lucky enough to have had a physical copy of this for a little while now and it's been on heavy rotation ever since it fell into my hands.  Now Yungun's decided to offer up his brilliant "Jack The World" mixtape as a free download.  Mixed by longtime collaborator Mr. Thing, its a blend of demos, collabs, remixes and unheard material from one of the sickest lyricists around right now. Did I mention it's free? I did? So why are you waiting?! Download "Jack The World" here: http://yungun.bandcamp.com/album/jack-the-world-mixed-by-dj-mr-thing

Multi-Tasking - Supar Novar

Seems like more and more MC's are turning their hand towards producing these days. Personally, I'm all for it as the more sources of heavy beats, the better.  In the limelight this time around is Supar Novar with his "Multi-Tasking" EP.  Consisting of 8 instrumentals, a couple of which featured on his "No Favours" album and two more from stable-mate Ragz Sweet Jones' LP, it also houses four unheard beats.  Due to a dodgy Internet connection, I'm yet to download and vouch for it but based on his lyrical calibre, I'm sure it'll be worth a listen!  Head to http://www.suparnovar.com/2011/11/free-download-supar-novar-multi-tasking.html to get your fix.

Closure (Video) - Chima Anya

Just a quick one here peeps.  It's the brand new video for Chima Anya's "Closure".  It's become one of my favourite tracks from his recent mixtape of the same title so if you're feeling it, hit http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/a1e4dq to get yourself a copy alongside the remainder of the project.  Big up Robert Dylan from Chima's camp for bringing this to my attention.  Much appreciated!

The Dark Side Of The Boom - Prose

In the wake of the recent release of their lead single "Real Talk", Steady & Efeks, collectively known as Prose, are back to finally bless us with their brand new full length project, "The Dark Side Of The Boom".

Their latest LP sees the winning formula of dope beats and conscious lyrics that they championed on their first outing "Force Of Habits" evolve to a new level. "The Dark Side..." carries an organic, almost lo-fi aura that gives the project an added rawness to compliment the throwback boom-bap sound that is obviously a heavy influence on the duo. This underlying somber atmosphere deepens when echoed in tracks like "To Kill For" (portraying an encounter with a femme fatale-like character), the Crusada assisted "Meet Ya Maker" and "Welcome To The Abbatoir".

In amongst the 20 tracks that collectively form "The Dark Side...", we are offered 7 short "Darkerludes". Never more than a minute long, they showcase the minimalistic yet equally powerful instrumental foundation that remains fluent throughout the album.

Without stating the obvious, Prose's new project offers a much darker side to the tag-team in comparison to earlier work. Despite this, it still promotes the BBP camp as the home to potent production and creative penmanship. These two deserve massive props for their effort in creating "The Dark Side..." and at a paltry £4.99, it'd be an insult not to get downloading. They've also got a whole bunch of discounted bundles with previous albums and mixtapes so make sure you head to http://boombap.bandcamp.com and get involved!

Not Like Before - The Four Owls

Following on from my post the other day, High Focus' dream team have dropped a video for their next single taken from their upcoming LP " Nature's Greatest Mystery".  "Not Like Before" sees Leaf Dog's brilliant production take a verbal battering by all involved. Personally, I'm feeling this a little more than the last effort but if both of these tracks offer a strong indication of the calibre of the rest of the project, it could easily become an instant classic!

Nature's Greatest Mystery - The Owls

Ladies & Gentlemen, listen very, very carefully.  It may be just under a month away but I needed to bring this to your attention a.s.a.p so that you have no excuse whatsoever not to make sure that you pre-order this!  High Focus Records is has rapidly become the source of some of the finest Hip Hop to grace your speakers over the past year or so and with their latest project, they are almost guaranteed to cement that reputation further. Their new supergroup, "The Owls" (consisting of Big Owl, Bird T, Rusty Take-Off & Deformed Wing), are set to turn the scene on its head with their debut LP "Nature's Greatest Mystery".  You may now be wondering what all the fuss is about but if I offer you their alias'; Fliptrix, Verb T, BVA & Leaf Dog, I'm hoping you'll become just as excited as I am.  With features from Jam Baxter, Dirty Dike and Q-Unique, alongside sole production duties being left to Leaf Dog, this has the potential to be something absolutely massive.

"Nature's Greatest Mystery" is due for release on 5th December, which leaves you plenty of time to head to http://www.high-focus.co.uk or http://www.suspect-packages.com/artists/r-t/THE_FOUR_OWLS.php?add=UKA13814 and pre-order this shit!

I Need - Maverick Sabre

So the video may have been in circulation for a little while but a few days back saw the official release of Maverick Sabre's latest single, "I Need".  This is by far my favourite track from his "Travelling Man" mixtape and whilst I'm not sure I'm 100% feeling the new arrangement, it's a brilliant track and showcases Maverick's unique vocal talents at their peak.  Kick back and enjoy!

Download the "I Need" EP from iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/i-need-remixes/id467964285

House Of Pain - Kano ft Ghetts

Over the past few weeks, Kano has teamed up with regular collaborator Mikey J to drop a series of tracks that take the form of the "Not 4 The A-List" mixtape.  Each of the four tracks carry a different vibe but the stand out from my perspective is "House Of Pain".  It's a track that distinctly lacks the energy that is usually synonymous with Kano and especially the guest vocalist, Ghetts.  Despite this though, it's a pretty deep and reflective track on which the two trade bars and air grievances at a debatable target.  I personally think they're directing their frustrations at music in general but many heads online are suggesting that they're discussing the current state of the Grime scene.  Check the video below to come to your own conclusions.  To get your hands on the remaining tracks "Random Antics", "ET" and "Alien" (with features from Wiley, Wretch 32, Scorcher and Maxsta), head to http://listn.to/TheRealKano

Don't Flop 3rd Birthday: Verb T v Jolly Jay

Another gem from the guys at Don't Flop.  This time it takes the form of one of the headline battles from their recent third birthday bash.  One of my favourite artists, Verb T, squares off against Jolly Jay in a battle that's full of humorous one-liners and far from being as one sided as I initially thought it would be!  There's an official decision as always but check the video and see who you think should've won.

Closure - Chima Anya

So I may be a week or so late on this one but I had to bring this to your attention.  Chima Anya is ridiculously under-rated and somewhat of an anomaly.  Not only is he a gifted wordsmith, he's a Doctor by profession.  That's right, he's officially Chima Anya PhD!  The Nigerian born, Oxford raised and now London based MC recently dropped his latest project as a free download.  Weighing in at 17 tracks, "Closure" finds Anya true to form, delivering potent poetry throughout with personal stand-outs being "What Now" and the Soweto Kinch and Mr Mann assisted "And We Back".  On "Stop Cryin" (the video below), Chima uses Flako's soulful "Colours Of Love" to address the ever relatable traumas/ stresses of lost love.

"Closure" is an eclectic listen, spanning a range of sounds that cover original productions, live performances and re-dubs of tracks from the likes of Lil' Wayne and Lloyd Banks.  When something's available for nothing it's always worth at least a listen but "Closure" is definitely one of those projects that will be a valuable addition to your music collection.

The Crunchie Mixtape - Bashy

Don't Cha Know!!  After taking a little hiatus to focus on other outlets, Bashy's back.  The last couple of months have seen Bashy dropping weekly freestyles, a few of which take place amongst the 24 tracks that complete his new project, the "Crunchie" mixtape.  It's a welcome return in my opinion so hit up http://www.bashy.com, download this for zilch and make up your own mind.

Re:Generation

This is kind of a brief post as I don't know too much about this project as yet but the premise of it was too big not to share.

"FIVE DJs TURN THE TABLES ON THE HISTORY OF MUSIC

Follow DJ Premier, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, Pretty Lights and The Crystal Method as they remix, recreate and re-imagine five traditional styles of music. From the classical perfection of the Berklee Symphony Orchestra to the bayou jams of New Orleans jazz, our five distinctive DJs collaborate with some of today's biggest musicians to discover how our musical past is influencing the future."

I'll bring you more information as and when I can but in the meantime, check out http://www.regenerationmusicproject.com. This has the potential to be something massive.

Out The Box - Kingpin ft Deadly Hunta

There's nothing better than when you unexpectedly stumble upon a hidden gem.  I hadn't heard of Kingpin before but the fact that he's been co-signed by GlobalFaction in the shape of the video for his new track "Out The Box", meant I needed to investigate further.  Featuring Deadly Hunta, the track finds Kingpin delivering double-time fire with Hunta's gruff tones gracing the chorus.  It's positive music in its prime with the duo promoting self-belief and progression.

"Out The Box" is taken from Kingpin's recently released LP, "The Initiative".  It's a cracking listen, full of thoughtful lyricism, soulful production and guest spots from the likes of Kyza, Stig Of The Dump, Dubbledge and Manage.  For a mere £6.99, it's well worth the download so hit up iTunes and cop that ish http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the-initiative/id429901833

Real Talk - Prose

If you haven't heard of Prose before, chances are you missed out on one of the best British albums from last year.  The duo's "Force Of Habit" LP was a nod to the old school, blending heavy beats with creative and thoughtful lyricism.  Prose, aka Steady & Efeks, are now back in the limelight with their new track "Real Talk", taken from their forthcoming album "The Dark Side Of The Boom".  Once again, their combination of tight delivery and polished production work to great effect.  What makes "Real Talk" even better is that it's on offer as a free download.  Need I say more..?

If you're feeling it, make sure you take a trip to http://boombap.bandcamp.com/ to get yourself a copy, catch up with their back catalogue and more importantly, pre-order their new album.  It's bound to be something special!

Read My Lips - Mikill Pane ft Ben Clemo

Taken from his recently released "Guiness & Blackcurrent EP", Mikill Pane has dropped a video for "Read My Lips". I'm not really feeling the chorus on this but Pane's humorous narrative rightfully takes it's place as the main attraction. The accompanying video is equally as entertaining and would surely have Jim Henson turning in his grave.

WYCypher: Episode 1

Having spent a few years up in Sheffield whilst scraping together a degree, I tried to immerse myself into as much of the local scene as possible.  It took a little while to sift through Grime and more predominantly Bassline, yet I gradually discovered there's a pretty good pool of potential 'Up North'.  This has rapidly expanded over the past couple of years and there's now a wealth of music that needs to be heard.  Enter from stage right, "WYCypher" (the WY standing for West Yorkshire).  Billed as a weekly link up of MCs from around the area, it's 100% straight off the cuff and hip hop at it's rawest best.  Featuring the likes of Jack Flash, Lunar C, Matter & Chief Wigs to name but a few, it's a great opportunity to catch a bunch of talented (albeit ever so slightly inebriated) artists spilling their Northern drawl over a whole host of head-bopping productions.  Punchlines galore, it's refreshing to see a collective taking it back to the essence of the scene whilst remaining relevant to the genre's progression.  Appreciate...

Four Letter F Word - Jack Flash

Take one of the country's finest producers. Add to that one of UK's most talented wordsmiths and stick them into the studio together.  The outcome is simple; progress.  Or to be more precise, you end up with the soon to be released "Progression" album from Wizard and Huddersfield inhabitant Jack Flash.  Taken from the afore mentioned project is "Four Letter F Word".  Over a laid back and soulful Wizard production, Jack Flash drops lyrical gems built upon an extremely clever concept.  Based upon the title, the way the track twists was completely unexpected but sheer genius at the same time.  Just hit play and you'll soon discover what I'm talking about! Enjoy...

Still Speedin' Video - Sway

I know I've already given you this track but Sway's now dropped the video for what I'm guessing is the lead single off of his forthcoming album, "The Deliverance".  As videos fair, it's not exactly the most creative but it's a contagious track and I'm sure it signals a return to prominence for Mr. Safo.

Inside SB.TV Mini Series

A couple of months ago Channel 4 went from the bedroom to the boardroom, going behind the scenes of SB.TV.  Due to it's success, they've now converted it into a mini-series that is aired every Saturday morning on T4.  The show premiered this morning and just as with the original, it's an eye-opening journey in the meteoric rise of Jamal Edwards and his SB.TV empire.  The next episode airs at 10:50am next Saturday (29th October) and if you missed today's episode, catch up right here!

Magician Impossible - Dynamo

Having been a massive fan of Dynamo since he released his "Concrete Playground" DVD a few years ago (which has now unfortunately disappeared from my collection - he's a true magician!), I was pleased to see that his talent and perseverance was rewarded with his own series earlier this year.  Yesterday saw the DVD release of "Magician Impossible", which follows Dynamo around the world as he showcases his phenomenal magic to members of the public alongside a whole host of celebrities.  The reactions of his audience are almost as entertaining as the sheer mind-blowing nature of some of the tricks he performs and I can guarantee that he will, as DJ IQ perfectly captures it, leave you "fully, fully baffed"!  I don't want to spoil too much but the video below is a little example of the madness that occurs at the hands of Dynamo.  If you like what you see, follow the link at the bottom and get yourself a copy a.s.a.p!!

Lego House - Ed Sheeran

Just a quick one here folks.  Taken from his critically acclaimed 'debut' album, Ed Sheeran's dropped a video for his latest single, "Lego House".  Starring everyone's favourite ginger wizard Rupert Grint, the video is somewhat quirky to say the least and the twist towards the middle was pretty unexpected!  Anyways, the original version is the first video and the second is the Jake Gosling remix featuring P. Money (I know I've already posted it but the track's brilliant and this time around it's much better quality!).  The "Lego House EP" is due for release on 13th November.

Children Of The Stars - Big Cakes ft Rainmayqah

When GlobalFaction shoot a video, you can pretty much guarantee that you're in for an aural blessing before you even listen to the track.  This time around, the music is provided by Big Cakes and guest Rainmayqah in the form of "Children Of The Stars".  It's a soulful production with some deep and thoughtful lyricism, accompanied by a brilliantly edited video.  Kick back and enjoy...

Don't Flop: Times Change Semi Final - Tony D V Im

Another brilliant battle from the team behind Don't Flop.  This time around its the semi-final of the 'Times Change' tournament, with Tony D squaring off against Im for a place in the final.  There's a fair few of quotables on offer, my personal favourite being Tony D's "I'm a on level higher than Hitler's gas bill".  Controversial to say the least but lyrical genius at the same time.  I won't ruin the result, so make sure you check the battle below.

SB.TV Interview With Plan B

Fresh from the guys at SB.TV comes this eye-opening interview with Plan B.  The man behind one of last year's biggest albums talks Lucozade, breaking America, The Sweeney, Ill Manors and the recent riots.  There's some interesting stuff here people, have a gander!

DGFM - Wizard

Always one for upping the levels, the ever talented Wizard is back with his latest beat tape.  Eloquently entitled "Dutty Gash Face Music" ("because that is the face you will pull whilst listening"), this is 20 tracks of pure unadulterated filthy goodness.  Whether you're an aspiring MC or simply appreciate tight production, "DGFM" caters for one and all.  Wizard's left it open for you to donate to the cause or slyly appreciate it free of charge.  Either way, this is a musical trip in which you need to partake.  Have a little listen below (pay special attention to "Big Bamboo", it's a banger) and if you like what you hear, hit up http://wizardbeats.bandcamp.com/ for "DGFM" and some of Wizard's back catalogue and if you're on twitter, follow the man himself - @WizardBeats.

Blue Sky: Blood My In Is Music - Kano

Following on from his London Eye freestyle, Kano's released some new material for you to download free of charge!  This time round, he's put his own twist on Common's "Blue Sky".  The beat's a cracker and Kano's on fine form delivering some brilliant punchlines with the usual energy and attitude you would expect from Mr. Robinson.  Check the track and if you like, download that ish!!!
